Hi, I'm Andrew Mowat...
Always an educator in some fashion over the past 30 years, I have progressed through middle and senior school leadership to eventually become a domain expert, coach, trainer, facilitator and consultant to schools in Australia, the UK, Europe and Canada. With an unconditional focus on the growth of others, I have refined my engagement skills around the contexts of leadership, neuroscience and ICT. My extensive coaching and facilitation heritage strongly influence both my style and methodology, and I have a passion for converting theory and forward thinking into real-world application.
Entrepreneurial by nature, I published my first book, “The Success Zone” in 2009, a book that sits at the intersection of neuroscience, coaching and personal leadership. Principles of the book have since been applied to diverse fields including teacher and leader development, health, sports performance and parenting.
Since 2005, I have also been working closely with schools around ICT strategy development, and technology adoption. Here, I have helped schools strategically develop return on investment for ‘the spend’ on technology in schools via a key focus on teacher practice.
From 2013 to November 2016, my experience is now being applied in large-school technology adoption and strategy at the Australian International School Singapore, where I was the Director of ICT.
My next phase of work was as Group Head of Learning and Development at Cognita Schools. From 2017 to August 2019 I was responsible for developing learning strategy, programs and platforms for over 70 schools worldwide. A key focus in this work was developing learning programs to support conversations that matter.
I retain a strong interest in coaching and continue to assist in the development of a coaching culture both at the individual and organisational levels across Asia. I continue to contribute to thought leadership by presenting and speaking at conferences and to education systems.
